The 13 Year Coyotes have been playing baseball hard this fall and winter. They are now on their winter-break and except for a couple of practices to give parents the opportunity to get them out of the house, they will return after the first of the year. The team was the runner-up in the USSSA Fall League this year, and have played alot of games in the last 4 months. The Coyotes finished the weekend with a third place finish in the 2011 State Championship tournament in Las Vegas. The team went 2-2 over the weekend, with strong performances in pitching, hitting, and defense. The pitchers faced 94 batters over the weekend, striking out 33 and walking only 12--with Noah and Ronnie both pitching complete games ,striking out 10 each and walking only 1. Cordell, Mason, Daniel, and Connor rounded out the pitching over the weekend, and had strong outings. All the Coyotes pitchers and the defense kept the opponent batters at bay and gave up only 13 hits and 15 runs over the weekend. There was also great bunt coverage and some great catches in the field. ESPN should have been there for Roberto's catch. On the offensive side, the Coyotes scored 21 runs during the tournament scattering 30 hits including 3 doubles and three triples. Great hitting up and down the lineup.
